Water Quality Report

Internal & External Lab Reports

Five samples were taken from various points in Sweet Home on 11/21/2023 and tested for finished chlorine (AKA chlorine residuals), which is the chlorine content of the water that comes out of our water treatment plant. Acceptable samples will range from a minimum 0.2 milligrams of finished chlorine per liter of water to a maximum of 4.0 milligrams of finished chlorine per liter of water. Sweet Home's water tested well within this range and on the lower end, with an average of 0.8 milligrams of finished chlorine per liter. 0.8 milligrams per liter is Sweet Home's usual average level pre-drawdown.

Samples were also sent to an external lab on 11/22/2023 and tested for Total Coliforms (TC; these are bacteria that can be found in water) and E.Coli (which is the most common coliform). All samples came back negative, indicating no presence of there is no dangerous bacteria, including E.Coli, present in our drinking water.

The report is available below and here.

The City also sent samples to two independent labs to test for mercury. The external lab reports were received on 12/1/2023 stating there was no mercury in our water supply. Those lab reports are available here and here.
