Historic Downtown Revitalization and Small Business Center

The City of Sweet Home (CSH) proposes to create a small business complex in the heart of downtown to draw small businesses and entrepreneurs to the region.  The proposal includes a town square and an adjoining small business incubator building.  CSH will utilize the old City Hall building, now vacant, and restore it to create a space that supports small business and artisans by offering office spaces, various amenities, and a centralized location in the community.  This incubator will support local startup businesses and entrepreneurs and give them an opportunity to grow and become established in the community.  The parking lot will be restructured into a plaza that will be used to host various markets, and community events and the adjoining street may be vacated to connect to a future city project that creates a "festival street" for city events.  This effort will tie into a long term Downtown Sweet Home revitalization and beautification project to draw new businesses and development interest to our beleaguered downtown area.  This project will directly support 60 business/entrepreneurs by offering reduced rent over a 5 year period, providing space for collaboration and community engagement, city maintained facilities and amenities, and supporting future community development projects for the residents of Sweet Home.
