Youth Advisory Council (YAC)
Youth Advisory Council (YAC)
The YAC advises the Sweet Home City Council on issues that affect youth in our community. They provide a primary link for youth to government, business and the entire community on a variety of subjects and opportunities. For more information about the YAC review the YAC Bylaws. YAC Bylaws

Membership: The YAC consists of 7 members representing youth in grades 7th to 12th.  Terms of committee members run from July 1st to June 30th of each year and all positions are appointed by the City Council. Two positions hold two year terms. Meetings: The Committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. 

2016/2017 YAC FOCUS: The YAC has been focusing on three areas this year. Community Health, Community Pride and Community Prosperity. The group has been meeting to discuss how they can work on all three focal points and help make Sweet Home a better place.
 
YAC members attended the Sweet Home Traffic Safety Committee meeting to discuss how to make our streets safer; specifically looking at Hwy 20 crossing areas and how to educate people who are out after dark to be more visible.
