Those applicants whose qualifications most closely meet the City’s current needs will be selected for a written test, oral assessment and computer skills test.
The top applicants are invited to continue the process through a background investigation. The background investigation is extremely comprehensive. The background investigator talks to people that you have had contact with throughout your life. The background investigator looks into your personal history, academic history, work history, relationship history, drug use history, criminal history, credit history, and anything that help determine the type of employee you would be for the Sweet Home Police Department.
The top applicant is then offered a conditional job before moving into additional evaluation which consists of a psychological examination, a medical examination and a drug test.
